After 8 years of waiting for the The Ministry of Communications and Transportation of Mexico (SCT), Radio Beep begins operations, offering its service nationwide.

Radio Beep expands services throughout Mexico by opening strategic points to meet demand with coverage.

The great popularity of beepers promoted the beginnings of mobile telephony. Beepers reached peak popularity during the 80s and 90s.

Radio Beep moves and debuts its emblematic headquarters in Loma Larga. A great neon billboard would light up the city nights.

Following an instructive trip to Asia, Radio Beep modifies its sales and service strategy and manages to increase global sales 32 times over.

Long-Distance

The Ministry of Communications and Transportation of Mexico (SCT) grants Marcatel a concession to offer long-distance services in Mexico for the next 30 years.

As the next natural step for Radio Beep, Marcatel is established in association with IXC. The new telecommunications company would shake the existing monopoly in Mexico.

The BJGA scholarship is created in honor of Br. Jorge García Abaroa, who dedicated his life to supporting the education of young people in Nuevo León. This nonprofit organization would be dedicated to donations and programs for children and youth.
